Samsung to launch Galaxy S3 on all 5 major US wireless carriers

Samsung just announced that all 5 major US carriers will carry it’s flagship smartphone – the Galaxy S3.

Hence you can expect to see a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3 on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and
Verizon starting in June
.

Note that the US based Galaxy S3, as the Canadian S3 will not have the quad-core Exynos processor but rather a 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.

Why you may ask? Probably to compete price wise against HTC’s One X and against Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5. There is a huge competition between Apple and Samsung that have led to a multitude of lawsuits between the two companies. With an early release,
Samsung will get a good head start with the new Galaxy S3 worldwide and that’s probably a few months before Apple releases the iPhone 5. In recent years, if there was one phone that could compete against Apple’s iPhone, it was probably the Samsung Galaxy.

After all, 50 millions handset sold in two years for the Samsung Galaxy S1 and S2 is no small amount for an Android phone.

With this dual-core processor, the Galaxy S3 will have a boost in RAM, that is 2GB as opposed to only 1GB for the European version.

Exact details regarding release date have not been confirmed yet, thought Samsung states that they should be out in June, which
is now so you can expect it anytime. Pricing should start at around $200 with a three year plan.
