Adobe Flash Player 10.2 coming to Android

Adobe is ready to deliver a new Flash Player, version 10.2, to the Android Market on March 18.

This new iteration of the Flash Player will be the second one from Adobe for Android device, whereas it is still not welcomed in the iOS world. Many people think that the absence of Flash in Apple’s Iphone and Ipad is going to be a disadvantage when comparing new comers like Motorola Xoom tablet and the Motorola Atrix phone.

The Flash 10.2 update will be available for Android Froyo 2.2 and Gingerbread 2.3; a beta version will also be available for Android 3.0 Honeycomb which also require Google’s 3.0.1 system update.

Adobe’s Flash Player is widely use in the computer industry, and is now setting foot in the smartphones and tablets world by optimizing video streaming and increasing game performance. This new Flash version, will help hardware acceleration videos, increase frame rates thus allowing smoother videos and help preserve battery power. It is also better integrated with Android browser and with the new screen keyboard made available in Honeycomb.

Motorola’s Xoom buyers will get the update over the air, via Verizon Wireless and Motorola.
