Samsung releasing biggest smartphone yet – Samsung Galaxy Mega

Samsung just released the biggest phone to be available on the market, the Samsung Galaxy Mega. With its 6.3 inch screen size, the Mega dwarfs the Galaxy Note 2 which was already a huge phone.

This new phablet, is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It comes with 8 GB of ROM expandable to 64GB with a microSD card. In terms of camera functionalities, the Mega comes with a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, and an 8 megapixel rear camera. The Mega is the world’s largest smartphone but its specs are relatively modest. Nonetheless, this hybrid phone surely is a great eye teaser thanks to its gigantic screen. As for convenience and portability, I’m not sure if it’ll fit in the common pocket.

So really, how big is too big? Samsung set the trend with its Galaxy Note (actually it was Dell who did with the Streak) and since then phones keep getting bigger and bigger. Huawei just released a 5.7 inch phablet recently and Apple is rumored to release a 5.7 inch iPhone this fall. Would you consider Samsung’s latest phablet phone? Or is it really just too big? Let us know!
