Sony S (aka S1) and P (aka S2) tablet to be released this October

Sony introduced during Germany’s IFA show the S1 and S2 tablet. Actually both tablets have been renamed Sony Tablet S for the S1 and Sony Tablet P for the S2.

The Sony Tablet S will be available in Japan with Wi-Fi and with 3G and Wi-Fi via Docomo.
What’s interesting is that the Wi-Fi version will run Android 3.1 Honeycomb and the 3G version with Wi-Fi will run Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Regardless, the 9.4-inch tablet will be available with 16 or 32GB of memory.

On the other hand, the Sony Tablet P will feature a dual-clamshell screen. This PlayStation Android tablet will only be available in Japan as a 3G and Wi-Fi tablet. It will also be available in the US through AT&T. With the dual 5.5-inch screens, the Sony Tablet P is a serious gaming contender and is redefining tablets apps for dual screen compatibility.

Both tablets are expected around October this year. Sony is getting late in the Android tablet game, but the two tablets they have to offer are just gorgeous.
