Orange UK to launch Barcelona Android phone – aka Huawei Boulder

Orange in the UK is ready to deliver another Android smartphone. After the previous success of the Orange San Francisco, Orange is coming out with another rebranded Orange phone – the Orange Barcelona.

The Orange Barcelona is actually a rebranded Huawei device the Boulder set to launch later this month in Singapore.
The Barcelona, runs Android 2.2 Froyo, and features a 2.6-inch touchscreen with a full Blackberry like physical QWERTY keyboard. The Orange Barcelona or Huawei Boulder, will have a 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS are available on this affordable phone.

The Barcelona with its full physical keyboard is ready for avid text messaging users and for the Android Market.

The phone will retail for £139.99 on pay as you go basis. You can also get it for free when you sign up for a plan of at least £15 per month for 24 month.

No final date has been issued by Orange, but you can expect a launch in the next month. The Huawei Boulder will retail by the end of the month, so we can safely assume that the Orange Barcelona should follow shortly since they really are the same device.
