Sony Ericsson Xperia Play finally available on Verizon

Verizon Wireless introduced 3 Android devices on Thursday May 26. The LG Revolution, the Motorola Droid X2 and last but not least the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play smartphone aka. PlayStation Phone.

This phone has already been available around the world and is finally hitting the USA. Available on Verizon Wireless, this phone will cost $199.99 with a two-year contract requiring voice and data plan.

In short, this phone features a 4-inch touchscreen, under which you’ll fing a sliding keypad just like game controllers. Powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, this phone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. 5.1 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and 3G completes some of the technological features of this phone.

The Xperia Play comes pre-loaded with seven games: Madden NFL 11, Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior, Asphalt 6: Adrenalin, The Sims 3, Star Battalion, Crash Bandicoot and Tetris.
As the world’s first “PlayStation certified smartphone”, you can get more PlayStation games on the Android Marketplace or even Verizon’s V Cast Apps store.

Sounds like the waiting room area will never be the same with an Xperia Play in hand.
