Lookout application catches Android thieves

An Oregon man can rejoice now that he caught the thief who allegedly broke into his house and stole his laptop and Motorola Droid among other things. Basically, the owner installed on his Droid device an application called lookout.

This application allows the owner of the phone to backup its data to a webserver and even to locate the stolen Android device. Another function it has is uploading data to your webserver account every day at midnight for instance. Midnight came, and fortunately for the Droid owner, the thief took some pictures of himself. The owner took the pictures to the police station who used them to locate the suspect.
Case closed, now that was easy!
