Samsung introducing world`s thinnest tablet – Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9

Samsung is preparing to launch the world’s thinnest tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. The Samsung Android tablet with a thickness of only 0.34 inches beats the iPad 2 by only 0.01 inches.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is really a smaller version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Samsung tablet will be running Android 3.1 Honeycomb powered by a dual-core processor. As with most devices, the Galaxy Tab will have dual cameras for video chats, a front 2 megapixel camera and a rear 3 megapixel camera. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will also be able to play 1080p HD and will come with Samsung’s newest UI for tablets – TouchWiz UX for tablets.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be available in two configurations, the Wi-Fi version and the LTE version with a yet to be determined carrier. The tablet should hit the US on October 2nd, with the 16GB Wi-Fi version costing $469 and the 32GB version $569. As is the norm with most of Samsung’s products, the Galaxy Tab seems very sturdy and should be really fun to use. I think that the 8.9 inch format should be even more appealing to consumers as opposed to the 7 inch tablet, don’t you think?
