Vizio 8-inch tablet is here, the VTab1008. And its affordable too, only $299.

Vizio started launching its 8-inch tablet the VTab1008 this week. This Vizio Android tablet is one of the most affordable tablet on the market at a retail price of $299. This new price tag for the VTab1008 is even cheaper than originally announced by Vizio this summer.

But don’t get fooled by its low price, the Vizio tablet is actually a pretty good tablet considering its low price. One of the unique feature the VTab1008 has is the integrated IR, allowing you to use your Android tablet as a remote controller for most of your home theater electronics.

The Vizio will come with 2GB of memory expandable to an additional 32GB via microSD card. The tablet will support GPS functionality, Bluetooth and WiFi.

The only drawback is that the VTab1008 will be running a modified version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread as previous Android 3.0 Honeycomb version did not run properly on tablet smaller than 10.1-inches. Its just too bad Vizio did not update the tablet to Android 3.2 Honeycomb before releasing it.

The tablet is now available at stores such as Amazon.com, Costco and Walmart for $299.
