Disappointed? Obviously Gingerbread would have been awesome, but we have to keep in mind a few things. Updates are always slow, at least its getting updated unlike some cellphones which cant get an update because of hardware limitations. And talking about hardware limitation, this update wont support Adobe Flash because of the slower 600 MHz processor the Apex runs on.

What this update will bring is faster experience with downloads, faster overall performance and faster browsing. Froyo 2.2 will also allow the Apex to act as a mobile hotspot provided you have a tethering plan. The update also integrates support for Microsoft Exchange and updates to Android Market.

The update files are available on the US Cellular website and you need a PC running Windows. Not that it is difficult to update, but an Over the Air update would have been nice. Unfortunately rarely would you get OTA updates, unless you have a Nexus One or Nexus S.
