Skype releases patch for privacy flaw and adds 3 G functionality

After reports of a security flaw in Skype last week, Skype has released a new version of Skype for Android that resolves this privacy flaw.

Skype advise all of its users to update their Skype app to the latest version in order to prevent leakage of sensitive data. The original flaw was due to failure in securing folders and encrypting personal information.

In addition to this patch, the Skype team added 3G functionality. This lets you make phone calls over 3G network, a long awaited feature. A gift to forgive the previous mistake? Whatever it is, this feature is certainly very much appreciated as you can now make free Skype to Skype phone calls not only over WiFi but also over 3G.
