Samsung just confirmed this week the release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Canada starting June 20th.
And that’s good news but there’s just one thing thought, it will be different from the European model. The main difference between the two Galaxy S3 versions lies within it’s processor. The European version is powered by the quad-core Exynos processor whereas the Canadian version will be powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor. Now that’s a huge disappointment. On the plus side thought, the Canadian Galaxy S3 will have 2GB of RAM as opposed to 1GB for the European version.
The Canadian Galaxy line-up will also be lacking the 64GB model, but that shouldn’t matter too much because if the 32 GB isn’t enough, you can always add more memory thanks to the microSD port.
Even wireless carriers will have different versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel, TELUS and Virgin Mobile will have the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 – the SGH-i747.
Whereas Mobilicity, Videotron and Wind will be getting the HSPA+ 42 version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 – the SGH-iT999.
