Asus EEE Pad Transformer now available in Australia

The famous Asus EEE Pad Transformer is now available in Australia. Two versions are available for you to choose from, one 16GB and one 32GB. The 16GB version retails at $599, while the 32 GB version will go for $799. The main difference between the two comes from the docking keyboard station. The 32GB version includes the keyboard.

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is one of the best Honeycomb tablet on the market in terms of price and functionality. Loaded with Android 3.0 Honeycomb, an update from Asus should be available over the air (OTA) around fall updating it to Android 3.1.

The Asus EEE Pad Transformer is powered by a 1 GHz nVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, and features a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Two cameras are available on the tablet, a 1.2 megapixel front camera and a 5 megapixel rear camera. Available connectivity specs includes mini HDMI, MicroSD and Wi-Fi.

Asus EEE Pad Transformer with keyboard dock station

The tablet keyboard docking station adds two USB ports and an SD card slot. In addition to the 8 hours of battery life from the tablet, the keyboard docking station holds a secondary battery increasing the expected battery life to 16 hours. The docking station will be available in the summer for a retail price of $199.

Asus also announced a 3G version of the tablet Asus EEE Pad Transformer later this year around Q3. This 3G version will be available for purchase without the need of a wireless carrier.
