HTC suing Apple using recently acquired Google patents

So here we go again, lawsuit in the smartphone world. But this time, the “victim” is Apple getting sued by HTC.

What exactly is HTC suing Apple for? Well, HTC just acquired a week ago some Google patents and the Taiwanese company is using them to sue Apple. The irony in all this is that the patents were recently acquired by Google from Palm Inc, Motorola Inc and Openwave Systems Inc.

A total of 9 patents acquired from Google, are being used by HTC against Apple for patent infringement of mobile devices. HTC filed the complaints on Aug. 16 with the International Trade Commission (ITC).

Note that in the latest ongoing patent war, Samsung had to pull some of its Galaxy products including current tablet and upcoming tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 from the market. So yes, this is definitely serious matter, after all, its all about the money and as they would say, protecting your product.
