Samsung introducing huge phablets – the Galaxy Mega phones with 5.8 and 6.3 inches

You thought the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was big with it’s 5.5 inches? Think again, how about a phone with 5.8 inches, or even 6.3 inches? The new Samsung Galaxy Mega is just that, 5.8 and 6.3 inches.

Samsung just introduced these two “monster” phones to be available in Asia and Europe starting this May. Labelled as affordable phones, the Mega phones from Samsung will be available in two supersized format, 5.5 and 6.3 inches.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega with a 5.8 inch screen (Mega 5.8) will be powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core processor with 8GB of RAM. Showing lower specs than its bigger brother, the Mega 5.8 “smaller” in size will have a smaller capacity battery with 2,600 mAh.

The Mega 5.8 will have an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera along with a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera.

On the other hand, the Mega 6.3 will be powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 1.5GB of RAM and a 3,200 mAh battery . The phone will have two storage capacity available, an 8GB and a 16GB version. Good news, as with Samsung Galaxy phones, the Galaxy Mega’s memory is expandable via microSD up to an additional 64GB.

Similarly to the Mega 5.8, the Mega 6.3 will have an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera as well as a 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera.

More specs regarding these two phones to come shortly as they should become available in May. So how big is really too big? I for myself am pretty happy with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and I don’t think I would change it for something bigger as it is already a huge phone. But then again, when I first saw the Note 2 I thought to myself never will I ever get a phone this ridiculously big. Last thing you know it’s the best phone I’ve ever owned and can’t live without it, so who knows… How about you? Would you get the Mega phones?
