Samsung Galaxy Notes biggest smartphone yet

Here comes another Android device from the IFA show last week. The Samsung Galaxy Notes, is a smartphone that can also stand as a tablet since the screen on this phone measures 5.3-inch. The idea behind the Samsung Galaxy Notes is like the Dell Streak tablet, half-phone/ half-tablet.

The Dell Streak sales were not very good, so what makes Samsung think they have a winner? Well, lets say that Samsung is aiming for note taking thanks to the Samsung S pen stylus. The pen is tucked just underneath the tablet and allows you to take notes and draw. Samsung is planning to release an SDK for the stylus pen to help third party developers write apps for it.

By default, the Samsung Galaxy Notes comes with S Memo, a notepad version for stylus. Furthermore, predictive text-input allows you to convert handwritten messages to digital notes.

For note taking, the Galaxy Notes is pretty cool. But can you imagine holding up a 5.3-inch Super AMOLED screen to your ear? I’m not too sure about that. Regardless, this dual-core processor Android device runs on Gingerbread 2.3, and features dual-cameras, one 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Notes will support the following bandwidth, 850/900/1900/2100. For now, no details regarding launching date and price have been announced. Ready for the biggest Android phone yet?
