Samsung Galaxy S2 to be released this fall on AT&T, Sprint (Epic 4G Touch) and T-Mobile

So this is it, Samsung finally announced the arrival this fall of the Samsung Galaxy S2 for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. As suspected, all carriers will have a different version of the device.

AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S2
will be the thinnest of the 3 with only 8.89mm thick and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. The Samsung Galaxy S2 will be released on September 18 for AT&T at a yet to be revealed price.

Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S2
will be renamed Epic 4G Touch and will feature a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. The Sprint version will be 9.59mm thick. Sprint released a press release stating that it will be the first carrier in the US to release the Samsung Galaxy S2 on September 16. The Epic 4G Touch will be available for $199 with a two-year contract.

T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S2 will also feature a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. No price and released date is available yet from T-Mobile, but we can suspect it should be fairly similar to AT&T and Sprint.

All Samsung Galaxy S2 will run a dual-core processor and will run Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread along with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI 4.0. Finally, the US is getting the Samsung Galaxy S2, when its been out for 4 months already since its release date.
But what took so long? Nevermind, at least its coming!

Note that Verizon will not carry the Samsung Galaxy S2. No words on NFC support for the Samsung Galaxy S2, so I presume no US carriers will carry NFC for the Galaxy S2 yet.
