The Whisper System team led by security researcher Moxie Marlinspike have released the beta version of WhisperMonitor.
This monitoring tool provides “a software firewall capable of dynamic egress filtering and real-time connection monitoring, giving you control over where your data is going and what your apps are doing”, claims Whisper Systems.
The app will compile a list of connection history that the user can review and monitor, telling it where and how often his handset connects.
WhisperMonitor beta is part of the WhisperCore secure app on the Android platform. The latest version 0.3 is only available for the HTC Nexus One and for Samsung’s Nexus S for the moment.
